How Missouri Is Impacted By Nationwide IV Fluid Shortages

Recent hurricanes have resulted in nationwide IV fluid shortages. The situation is dynamic and hospitals and health care providers are closely monitoring the situation. Federal authorities and supply chain stakeholders are working to expedite recovery at the hurricane-damaged Baxter plant in North Carolina, identify alternative suppliers, develop allocation systems to minimize disruption, and identify regulatory challenges and solutions to maximize the materials presently in the system.

Despite significant efforts, these shortages are expected to persist for the rest of 2024. As the situation evolves, we will continue to spread awareness.
