In urban, suburban, and rural areas, we need a system that focuses on health, in addition to care. When functioning at their best, hospitals and health care facilities can drive community health improvements in addition to better individual health. At the same time, hospitals are often the largest employer in the communities they serve, creating additional jobs and valuable economic activity.
